From the less polar fractions of the aerial parts of L. saxatilis var.
glutinosa, one new neo-clerodane diterpenoid, highly oxygenated at the
side chain, was isolated in addition to several known compounds. The
structure of the new compound was established by a combination of H-1
and C-13 NMR spectral data analysis, while the assignment of the absol
ute stereochemistry of the side chain was performed by X-ray crystallo
graphic analysis. Varied spectroscopic studies and several chemical co
rrelations were used to confirm the structures of the remaining compou
nds.
