ON PSYCHOANALYTICAL DEUTUNG

In the writings of Freud, Ferenczi, and Rank, the ego-psychology as we ll as object-relation-theory, the development of the term 'Deutung' is reconstructed. The most important influence of each understanding of metapsychology in relation to the role of 'Deutung' in a theory of psy choanalytical knowledge becomes obvious. In the light of mythic-metaph oric narration in the analytical situation the transpersonal character of psychoanalytical 'Deutung' is demonstrated.
