Abstract
Finishing of micro crystalline wax (MCW) using bauxite percolation to obtain food grade quality product having acceptable colour and colour stability has been studied. Deoiled MCW percolated over an activated b auxite at a temperature of 110-130-degrees-C and flow rate varying bet ween 0.2 to 0.7 bbl/ton h has been found to be comparable in quality w ith that of reference sample and quality requirements prevalent in Ind ia. Obtainable yield is comparable to the values reported in literatur e.
