Hydrosilylation reactions of 1,4-dihalobutene-2 and -butyne-2 (X = Cl,
Br) compounds with mono- and disilanes (RR'R''SiH or RR'SiH2 where R
= R' = R'' or R = R' not-equal R'' or R not-equal R' not-equal R''= -C
l, -OMe, -OAc, -Me or -Ph) have been studied to afford a series of mul
tifunctional haloorganosilanes. Hydrolysis, displacement and hydrogena
tion reactions of some of the aforesaid compounds have also been inves
tigated to synthesize their -alkoxides, -azido, -amino and -bisoxy der
ivatives. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysi
s, IR and H-1 NMR spectral data.
