Abstract
A magnetometric device able to detect aircraft and other moving vehicl es has been developed, allowing target classification, speed estimate and vehicle direction to be measured. The device is small enough not t o disturb the traffic, robust, of low power consumption and capable of sending a signal long distances; also detection is not dependent on a tmospheric conditions. The device is going to be applied in an automat ed surface ground movement control system for civil airports.
