Jr. Castillo et al., SURFACE-PLASMON RESONANCE SENSOR AS A DETECTOR IN HPLC AND SPECIFIC LACTATE DETERMINATION, Sensors and actuators. A, Physical, 37-8, 1993, pp. 582-586
A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor has been tested for its appli
cation in analytical chemistry. First, the SPR sensor has been used as
a universal detector in high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). I
t is found to be easy to stabilize and to handle, giving a broad linea
r range and good reproducibility. Secondly, the SPR sensor is used to
determine lactate by enzymatic reactions. It is possible to obtain som
e information about the mechanism of the reactions and the SPR signals
are linear with lactate concentrations under the experimental conditi
ons proposed.
