Abstract
This study experimentally investigated the effects of eyeglasses, for both a male and female model, on perceptions of interpersonal attracti on. One hundred fifty three subjects completed the McCroskey and McCai n (1974) interpersonal attraction measure for slides of a male and fem ale glasses/no glasses model. The research generally adds support to a ''negative glasses effect. '' Significant main effects were observed for both glasses/no glasses and stimulus person sex on task attraction . Results are discussed in light of prior research that has posited a ''positive glasses effect. ''
