Fifty-four cultures of Bacillus thuringiensis belonging to seven varie
ties were screened with respect to the potency of their endotoxin prep
arations against larvae of the greasy cutworm Agrotis ypsilon. Among t
hese tested strains, five cultures were potent. The active cultures be
long to the varieties tolworthi, thuringiensis and galleriae.
