Sn. Veremeichenko et al., NUMERICAL-ANALYSIS OF PSEUDOMONAS-FLUORESCENS BACTERIA ACCORDING TO THEIR LIPOPOLYSACCHARIDE STRUCTURE, Microbiology, 62(2), 1993, pp. 191-196
Numerical analysis of bacterial strains representing different biovars
(A, B, C, F, G, and i) of Pseudomonas fluorescens and nonfluorescent
bacterial strains of P. alcaligenes, P. pseudoalcaligenes, and P. frag
i was conducted according to the quantitative characteristics of their
lipopolysaccharide composition. These bacterial strains have a high d
egree of heterogeneity according to this index (similarity coefficient
varied within 41-71%). The P. fluorescens 2763 strain, representing b
iovar G, was the most taxonomically remote (similarity coefficient wit
h other strains was only 41%). Nonfluorescent pseudomonads were simila
r to P. fluorescens representatives which correlated with their classi
fication according to phenotypic and genotypic traits.
