We determined the location of the lectins on the cell surface of Bacil
lus polymyxa 1460. Using immunochemical methods, we demonstrated the p
articipation of the bacterial lectins in the interaction with a fracti
on of exo-components and with a membrane fraction of the wheat roots.
We identified certain proteins of the wheat root which participated in
the interaction with the bacillar lectins. We demonstrated an interac
tion of the bacillar lectins with the lectins of wheat roots.
