Ma. Ismailov et al., REACTION OF CO WITH NO IN THE PRESENCE OF AN AL2O3 CATALYST CONTAINING COPPER IONS, Kinetics and catalysis, 34(1), 1993, pp. 132-137
The CO-NO reaction over catalysis containing copper has been studied b
y spectroscopy. Under the reaction conditions both atoms and ions (Cu, Cu2+) are present on the surface. Copper ions take part in the forma
tion of isocyanate complex; Cu+ ions, in the formation of carbonyl. NO
is adsorbed on oxygen ions to form nitrite. The proportion of various
centers depends on reaction conditions. The more reduced catalyst fav
ors reaction via an isocyanate complex to form nitrogen. The less redu
ced catalyst favors N2O formation.
