Abstract
On the basis of x-ray diffraction data and Si-29 NMR spectra, linear r elationships have been found between the elementary cell constants of NH4 and H mordenites and the number of aluminum atoms. It is proposed that an equation relating the Al content to the lattice constants shou ld be used to determine the composition of the mordenite framework. Ex amples are given to illustrate the application of this equation in eva luating the state of aluminum in specimens that have gone through calc ination and acid treatment.
