Bw. Eagle et al., INTERROLE CONFLICTS AND THE PERMEABILITY OF WORK AND FAMILY DOMAINS -ARE THERE GENDER DIFFERENCES, Journal of vocational behavior, 50(2), 1997, pp. 168-184
Multiple measures of bidirectional interrole conflict were used to det
ermine whether work and family domains were asymmetrically permeable.
Family boundaries were more permeable than work boundaries in that dem
ands of the work role were permitted to intrude more so in one's famil
y role than vice versa. No gender differences were found in the patter
n of asymmetry. Theoretical implications are discussed. (C) 1997 Acade
