Abstract
A simple procedure for the determination of biomass concentration base d on total organic carbon (TOC) is presented. The method uses a total of 2 mt of sample, and requires less than an hour to perform. The tech nique is accurate to 0.009 g/L biomass. Samples can be refrigerated at 4 degrees C without affecting readings. Other characteristics are wel l within those of currently accepted methods of biomass determination.
