Abstract
The relation between angiogenesis and tissue expression of vascular endothe lial growth factor (VEGF) was studied in a series of 14 capillary cerebella r hemangioblastomas. In the present series, the number of intratumoral micr ovessels, identified by the endothelial marker CD34, does not correlate wit h the degree of VEGF expression. This finding suggests that endothelial gro wth factors other than VEGF may regulate tumor angiogenesis in these neopla sms. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
