Abstract
The disaccharide alpha-L-Rhap-(1-->2)-alpha-L-(2-H-2)Rhap-OMe has been synt hesized. The site-specific deuteration was performed at C-2 by reduction of a suitably protected beta-linked 2-ulose derivative. In addition, alpha-L- Rhap-(1-->2)-alpha-L-(2-H-2)Rhap-O(H-2(3)) was also synthesized. (C) 1998 E lsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
