Abstract
Novel macrotetracyclic cyclophanes, which are constructed with four cycloph ane units having eight dipeptide moieties, have been prepared and character ized by various spectroscopic methods. The guest-binding behavior of the ho st toward water-soluble porphyrines was examined by electronic spectroscopy .
