Abstract
A facile method for the difluorination of olefins was exploited and applied to the synthesis of novel liquid crystals (LCs) having a vic-difluoro olef inic moiety, The physical and electro-optical properties of these LCs were compared with those of the corresponding parent olefinic LCs.
