Abstract
Over the past few years, we have witnessed exciting advances in protein des ign. Several groups have reported success in the design of hydrophobic core s, and the principles developed in these studies have been recently applied to the full sequence design of a small protein motif and the design of a c atalytically active metal center. These successes suggest that designing la rge, functional proteins in computero is more feasible than ever before.
