The development of a hospital-sponsored, community-based, nurse-managed health center

The North Hills Health Center (NHHC) is a collaborative effort involving Ab ington Memorial Hospital, the North Hills Community Group, Upper Dublin Tow nship in the suburban Philadelphia area, and funding organizations. The NHH C opened as a hospital-sponsored, community-based, nurse-managed health car e center in July 1996 in response to needs voiced by the residents of North Hills. The NHHC serves this Montgomery County community of low-to-middle i ncome African American residents. There has been a steady increase in progr ams, services, and patients during the first 2 years of its existence.
