Automatic finite-element mesh generation using Auto-CAD

Design of electrical devices requires calculation of magnetic flux distribu tion within the object, This paper describes a method to determine flux dis tribution in a sample transformer using Auto-CAD. The mesh preparing bounda ry source and material data and extraction of Bur from the solution are alm ost all done automatically. The user is thus removed from the numerical ana lysis chores that, formerly, greatly reduced effectiveness. The method can also be applied to other heavily saturated electrical devices.
