Abstract
Fifteen binary diagrams of state have been studied in order to investigate the influence of induction of smectic A phase. A comparison has been made f or the compounds which possess strong polar end group like-CN and relativel y less polar end group like cyanofluoro with the compound 4-n-decyloxy-(4'- n-hexyloxyphen\yl)-benzoate which has non-polar end group.
