Abstract
The results of excess molar volumes for the ternary mixture {N,N-dimethylfo rmamide (DMF) + ethanol + water}, and for the binary constituents (DMF + wa ter), (DMF + ethanol), and(ethanol + water) at T = 298.15 K were reported. Several empirical expressions were used to predict and correlate the ternar y excess molar volumes. A pseudo-binary mixture approach was used to analys e the system studied. The partial molar volumes of ethanol at infinite dilu tion, and the apparent molar volumes of (DMF + water) mixed solvent at seve ral fixed compositions were evaluated and correlated with the composition o f the (DMF + water) mixed solvent.
