Abstract
Young's modulus is important to the mechanical properties of paper. Ov er time, it has received serious theoretical treatment regarding its o rigin and development. These treatments fall into two broad classes of theories: molecular and structural. They developed independently of e ach other with no point of interaction between them. Since both theori es provide valid statements about Young's modulus, this paper explores some point of connection that must exist between them.
