Abstract
To gain some insight into the thermodynamic aspects of CH4 formation by the reaction between elementary carbon and hydrogen-bearing species, the react ions, (1) non-graphitic carbon + a stream of NH3, (2) non-graphitic carbon + a stream of H-2 and (3) graphite + a stream of NH3 were carried out at 90 0 degrees C.
