Abstract
A method for determining the source frequency to use in vibration productio n technology is presented. Vibration production technology is a simple, eco nomic, and efficient way to increase oil production in some oil fields, and the source frequency is an important parameter in this technology. We use a finite element method to solve the coupled wave propagation problem in un derground porous media and a modal decomposition method to solve the dynami c ordinary differential equations given by the finite element method. Then a direct search algorithm is used to solve the optimum source frequency pro blem. Detailed formulae are derived for the proposed method, and the numeri cal result of an applied example demonstrates the usage of the method. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
