Abstract
The synthesis of a series of N-(protected)aminophthalimides and the removal of their phthaloyl group leading to N-(protected) or N,N-bis(protected)hyd razines is described. As illustrated by the synthesis of monolabelled isoni azid 3b*, this strategy can be utilized for the preparation of monolabelled substituted hydrazines.
