Abstract
The great revolution in theoretical fluid mechanics (brought along by the a dvent of computers in the middle of the century) that replaced search for a formal solution of a general problem with the analysis of evolutions, is i n turn threatened by consumerism replacing physical thought with easy, unco ntrolled output.
