Abstract
We consider the effect of shape on the anisotropy of stopping of swift ions by molecular targets. By use of an anisotropic harmonic-oscillator model a nd frequencies based on jellium ellipsoids, we show that a meaningful estim ate of molecular stopping anisotropy can be obtained from molecular shape a lone.
