Abstract
Using the "drift-diffusion-Langevin" equation, we have recently shown that finite-frequency shot noise in diffusive mesoscopic conductors is very sens itive to the ratio gamma=L/l(ee) between the sample length L and the electr on-electron mean free path l(ee). In this work we present numerical calcula tions of the noise at arbitrary value of gamma. If coupled with accurate no ise measurements, the results presented here could serve as a new and indep endent way of determining l(ee) in a given sample. [S0163-1829(98)50744-8].
