We study the stability of the pentaquarks <uudd(Q)over bar>, <uuds(Q)over b
ar> and <udss(Q)over bar>Q (Q = c or b) of positive parity in a constituent
quark model based on Goldstone boson exchange interactions between quarks.
The pentaquark parity is the antiquark parity times that of a quark excite
d to a p shell. We show that the Goldstone boson exchange interaction favor
s these pentaquarks much more than the negative parity ones of the same fla
vor content but all quarks in the ground state. We find that the nonstrange
pentaquarks are stable against strong decays. [S0556-2821(98)50321-9].
