The branching ratio of mu-->e gamma is evaluated in the supersymmetric SU(5
) grand unified theory taking account of higher dimensional operators, whic
h reproduce the realistic quark and lepton masses and the mixing parameters
. It is shown by numerical calculation that at large tan beta the branching
ratio is enhanced by a few orders of magnitude since the flavor mixings fo
r both the left- and the right-handed sleptons are induced by the effect of
the higher dimensional operators. [S0556-2821(98)09521-6].
