Sl. Wang et al., The mechanism of photo-ionization of podophyllotoxin and its derivatives: a laser flash photolysis study, RADIAT PH C, 53(6), 1998, pp. 623-628
Podophyllotoxin and its derivatives are very light (UV) sensitive, and can
be readily photo-ionized to produce some transient species, such as radical
cation, radical union and superoxide anion radical. The laser flash photol
ysis of podophyllotoxin and its derivatives has been performed for the firs
t time. The mechanism of photo-ionization has been confirmed and illustrate
d. In addition, the related reaction rate constants and molar extinction co
efficients of the transient species have been determined. (C) 1998 Elsevier
