Abstract
In this work, the laminar mixed convection heat transfer in a ventilated re ctangular cavity submitted to uniform heat flux from the side is studied nu merically. Flow fields, temperature fields and heat transfer rates are exam ined for values of Rayleigh and Reynolds numbers such as: 10(3) less than o r equal to Ra less than or equal to 10(6) and 5 less than or equal to Re le ss than or equal to 5.10(3). Useful correlations are proposed by considerin g air as a working fluid (Pr = 0.72) and a constant relative height of the openings (B = 1/4). (C) Elsevier, Paris.
