New organotin(IV) complexes of the types, RnSnLm [where n = 3, m = 1, R = C
6H5, CH3 or C4H9; n = 2, m = 2, R = C6H5 or C4H9 and L = anion of N-acetylg
lycine (HL1) and N-acetyl-DL-tryptophan (HL2)], (R,Sn)(2)L' [where R = C6H5
, CH3 or C4H9 and L'= anion of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (H2L3)], R2SnL'[where R
= C6H5 or C4H9 and L'= anion of (H2L3)] and Bu-2(L)SnOSn(L)Bu-2 [where L =
anion of (HL1)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analys
es, molar conductance, electronic. infrared, far-infrared, H-1 NMR, C-13 NM
R and Sn-119 Mossbauer spectral studies. Thermal studies of three complexes
have been carried out in the temperature range 18-1000 degrees C using TG,
DTG and DTA techniques. Possible structures of the complexes have also bee
n proposed.
