SYNTHESIS AND REACTIVITY IN INORGANIC AND METAL-ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
Biologically active amino acid (alanine, glycine and tyrosine) derived Schi
ff base ligands and their Co(TI), Cu(ll) and Ni(II) metal chelates having t
he same metal atom but different cations (e.g., nitrate, sulphate, oxalate
or acetate) have been synthesised and characterised by their physical, spec
tral and analytical data. The role of anions in these biologically active m
etal chelates against the bacterial species Staphylococcus aureus: Escheric
hia coli, Klebsiella pneumonae, Proteus vulgarus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
has been investigated and reported.
