First, on the basis of bibliometric features, the publication of the Zeitrc hrift fur Psychsomatische Medizin und Psychoanalyse is recorded. Based on t his record, there is a discussion on the significance of competition indica tors for the quality-assurance of scientific works. In a first step the sou rces quoted by the authors are described: These are indicators for the scie ntific issues aimed by the publishers and thus an internal definition of qu ality.
