Abstract
Centrifugals require a drive unit which supplies motor energy as well as ta king back generator energy. Therefore a centrifugal drive has a motor, a fr equency inverter and a feed back unit. The Vectron Elektronik GmbH develope d a special frequency inverter for the sugar industry. By adapting hardware and software a solution was obtained which offers an energy and process op timized centrifugal drive which also saves material. The frequency inverter is a voltage intermediate circuit inverter which consists of a diode bridg e, a capacitive intermediate circuit, a power output and a drive controller . The article gives an example for an installation for one to five centrifu gals.
