Recent contributions of statistical mechanics in chemical engineering

Some of the recent advances that have been made by chemical engineers in th e field of statistical mechanics, as well as some of the new products and p rocesses that have resulted from these advances, are reviewed New approache s to molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, quantum mechanics, master equations, hierarchical methods, liquid state theory, and field theory are discussed. Applications and commercial results in the microelectronics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical process industries are highlighted.
