Abstract
Synthesis of a bis(vic-diacrylic ester) porphyrin using the "3+1" methodolo gy is described. A two-step procedure is used to convert the vic-diacrylic ester porphyrin and the bis(vic-diacrylic ester) porphyrin to the monobenzo porphyrin and the opp-dibenzoporphyrin, respectively. Characterization of t he compounds by H-1 NMR and UV-visible spectroscopies is also discussed.
