This is the second of two papers dealing with the road surface contribution
to the tire-pavement skid resistance. In the first part, an overview of su
rface texture parameters, a regressional approach to skid resistance estima
tions and the mathematical background of fractal interpolation functions we
re presented. Special emphasis has been given to the evaluation of surface
wetting, whereas in this second part, the emphasis is concentrated on the e
ffect of surface wear to the values of skid resistance. For this purpose, t
he mathematical background is extended to cover C-1 interpolation curves. A
regression equation is used again to conventionally evaluate the assumptio
ns made for the wearing procedure of the pavement surface texture The whole
