Abstract
Using the tropp(Ph) ligand 1, stable monomeric d(8)-Ir+I, d(9)-Ir-0 and d(1 0)-Ir-I complexes could be isolated and structurally characterized; in all complexes, the metal centre lies within a coordination sphere intermediate between a square plane and a tetrahedron.
