Cerebral tissue pulmonary embolus (CTPE) is a rare event following severe b
lunt or penetrating head trauma and is often complicated by coagulation dis
turbances and hemorrhage. Donor cerebral tissue pulmonary embolism has been
reported to cause lethal, early graft dysfunction in lung transplant recip
ients. We report a case of donor cerebral tissue pulmonary embolism in a 41
-year-old female single lung transplant recipient with excellent post-opera
tive graft function.
