Abstract
The photovoltaic behavior of an electrochemical cell of TC16PyP(4) monolaye r, deposited on SnO2 optically transparent electrodes (SnO2 OTE) by the Lan gmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique was investigated The photocell was able to ge nerate photocurrent, which increase in the presence of electron donors or a ccepters in the KCl electrolyte solution, indicating that the photovoltaic effect of TC16PyP(4) perhaps originates from the photo-induced charge trans fer between TC16PyP(4) molecules and SnO2 semi-conductor. Moreover, the ori entation of TC16PyP(4) in monolayer or LB films was also studied by pi-A is otherm and polarized absorption spectrum. The result showed that the porphy rin macroring was oriented with an angle of about 25 degrees against the aq ueous surface as well as the substrate plane. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd .
