A general, analytical solution applying current reversal chronopotentiometr
y and cyclic chronopotentiometry to a reversible charge transfer process wi
th reactant adsorption obeying Henry's law is presented. We compare the abo
ve results with those deduced when both reactants are strongly adsorbed and
either Langmuir's or Henry's isotherm is obeyed. We have considered in thi
s last case that the successive applied currents are programmed alternating
currents of the form I(t(j)) = (-1)(/+1)I(j)t(j)(omega). Criteria for dist
inguishing between the adsorption of the reactant, the product or both simu
ltaneously and methods for determining adsorption parameters are proposed.
