Abstract
An infant born with ambiguous genitalia requires an accurate and prompt dia
gnosis so that a management plan can be formulated. This article discusses
the signaling cascade of genes that controls sexual differentiation. Clinic
al disorders involving sex reversal or ambiguous genitalia are discussed in
relation to the genes regulating sexual development. An approach to the tr
eatment of these disorders is outlined.
