Abstract
Aortic syphilitic aneurysm has become a rare disease and is scarcely consid ered by today's clinicians in their differential diagnosis (Hofmann-Wellenh of R, Domej W, Schmid C, Rossmann-Moore D, Kullnig P, Annelli-Monti M. Medi astinal mass caused by syphilitic aortitis. Thorax 1993;48:568-569), Syphil itic aortitis, the principal cardiovascular manifestation of syphilis, has been well documented as causing aneurysms of the aorta. (C) 1998 Elsevier S cience B.V.
