A fusion neutronics benchmark experiment on vanadium-alloy was conducted. V
arious nuclear quantities related to both neutrons and gamma-rays were meas
ured. It was found through benchmark analyses that all the cross section da
ta of mainly vanadium in recent nuclear data files still involved serious p
roblems. Improvement of these data is strongly required. According to discu
ssion on neutron KERMA factors, the major finding was that neutron KERMA fa
ctors based on ENDF/B-VI above 10 MeV were too large due to the larger V-51
(n,n'p)Ti-50 cross section.
