Abstract
The National Ignition Facility (NIF) is a U.S. Department of Energy inertia l confinement laser fusion experimental facility currently under constructi on at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). To ensure that dec ontamination and decommissioning (D&D) issues at the end-of-life are manage able, this subject has received attention from an early stage. This paper s ummarizes the NIF D&D issues, and the status of the D&D plan.
