Abstract
Salvia uliginosa Benth. plants, in an experimental planting of Salvia speci es, exhibited virus-like symptoms of chlorotic line patterns and ringspots. The suspect virus was mechanically transmitted to several experimental hos ts and was identified as cucumber mosaic cucumovirus (CMV) based on dsRNA g el patterns, positive reaction with CMV antiserum, and particle morphology as observed by transmission electron microscopy.
